How to configure a VPN on Windows

Step-by-step instructions

Windows 10

1. Create a VPN server with PPTP connection protocol

Open the program installation manual

2. Save access

3. Go to Parameters ❯ Network

For a quick transition to Start search VPN and move on to VPN settings

4. In the section Network select VPN

5. Click Add VPN Connection

6. Fill in the accesses, select VPN - PPTP и Save your changes

7. In the section Network ❯ VPN click on the VPN connection, connect

8. Connection control is available in the taskbar (in the lower right corner)

Windows 7

1. Create a VPN server with PPTP connection protocol

2. Save access

3. Go to Control Panel ❯ Network ❯ View network status

4. Click Setting up a new connection or network

5. Select Connecting to the work bridge

6. Select Use my Internet connection (VPN)

7. Select IP address VPN and press Next

8. Enter Login, Password, remember the password and press Connect

9. Skip the connection. Additional settings need to be made.

10. Close the window

11. Go to Control Panel ❯ Network ❯ Network Control Center
11.1. Click Changing the adapter parameters

12. Right-click on the VPN connection, open up Properties

13. Go to the tab Security and Select the protocol PPTP

14. Save your changes

15. Go to Control Panel ❯ Network ❯ Network connections
15.1. Right-click on the VPN connection and connect

16. Connection control is available in the taskbar (in the lower right corner)
